Domaine des Evigneaux
AOP Rasteau
Rasteau is a young appellation in the making, offering a reservoir of fine cuvées to discover. A typical Provencal village, set on a hillside, swept by the famous Mistral wind, with sloping vineyards and a multitude of different terroirs at its feet.
The vines at Domaine des Evigneaux fall into 3 categories:
old Grenache vines on the heights of the village
young Syrah and Mourvèdre vines on the southern slopes
carignan and cinsault vines on the restanques.
At Domaine des Evigneaux, the grapes are harvested by hand and transported in small 12-kilo crates to ensure that they arrive whole and retain their freshness without the risk of oxidation. Traditional vinification with maceration, pumping over and punching of the cap is followed by ageing in French oak barrels.
Domaine des Evigneaux is owned by Bénédicte Bonnet, a winemaker in Monteux.
Her philosophy is rooted in respect for the land and terroirs, essential values for guaranteeing the quality of her grapes. Committed to organic farming for over ten years, she has adopted the High Environmental Value (HVE) label for more rational and respectful management. With this in mind, all labels, cartons and bottles are made from recycled materials.
Its aim is to offer wines that are pleasant, accessible, fruity and balanced on the palate, with just the right amount of tannin.
